Installing the LYNX Web Application

This step is only done by IT administrators at your main office or wherever your actual web server is located. If you are accessing the LYNX web application to browse, view, search, etc. images YOU DO NOT NEED TO PERFORM OR INSTALL THIS SOFTWARE. This software will only need to be installed on one web server by your IT department. If you have any questions please call (877) 955-7711 (2).

Create a new folder (ie. c:\lynxinstall) and then and then create 3 sub folders.(ie. c:\lynxinstalls\lynxweb, c:\lynxinstalls\lynxlink, and c:\lynxinstalls\lynxremoteportal)

Download the install files and then unzip each install zip file into the new folders you just created.

The Web Server MUST be a functioning web server already running IIS and already configured to work with and run ASP.net web pages and ASP & Microsoft .NET functionality. The application will install to the web server IIS "Sites" - "Default Web Site". Web server minimum requirements.

Installing the LYNX Web Application

Download and unzip the install files for the LYNX Web Application: http://lynxpm.com/downloads/efiles/lynxwebv10.zip Once you have unzipped the files into the folder right click on the "setup.exe" file and choose "run as administrator" if you are using Windows Vista, or Windows 7, otherwise just double click on the file.



Next the Installshield wizard will pull up. Please click next. On the next screen enter your windows user name and
orginazation if you want. (optional).



It will then ask you to point to the SQL Server. You can just enter in your SQL server name if you know it, or you can browse to
see if the wizard can locate your servers for you. You can leave the "Connect using" Windows authentication, however, your SQL
Server may require you to enter the SA password, or a complete SQL Server Administrator user account information. then click
"Next" On the next screen if you are ready to go click "Install".



Please be patient, it may take a few minutes for the bar to start moving, but the application is installing and should very quickly bring
you to the next screen telling you the install is complete. Click "Finish" and you are done!



To test and see if your web server is working properly, open a web browser and open the LYNX Web Application page. By default this page on the web server would be http://localhost/lynxweb, or go to wherever you installed the app and load the page through a browser
to ensure that IIS is handling the application properly. Be patient it may take a few moments to compile this web application and then display the login screen. Note: the default username is admin, and the default password is admin. Login and you should be in the application. Now move on to the lynx link and lynxremoteportal installations.
